Titanic Exhibition
Thursday, March 29, 2012 / 1:19 AM

Since I couldn't get to see the Dinosaur exhibit that was on at the Science Centre as it had ended. I dragged baby to the ArtScience Museum next to Shoppes at Marina Bay. To view the Titanic exhibition.

As we had taken a bus, crossed the road, once we walked in the box office was there. So a hunch to get the tickets there and not at the museum, right choice! When we entered the museum, we saw a snake queue to the ticket counter. What a relief for buying tickets there and then.

We took the lift as it was slow we went up then down to the basement where our exhibit was.

On entering the exhibit we were given our boarding passes to the RMS Titanic.

The unsinkable ship they called it back in the 1912.

There are 9 sections to the exhibition.. Journeying through the exhibition brings you insight of what's to come or what was on the Titanic. Makes you feel like you were there, everything was great and interesting. But it was packed with some inconsiderate tourists.

A bit of information that can be found on the pamphlet.

1. Construction Gallery
Step back into the famed Harland and Wolff shipyard of the early 1900s and relive the story of Titanic's conception, design and construction.

*Did you know that Titanic had 2 sister ships called Britannic and Olympic.

2. Verandah Cafe
Stroll through this one-of-a-kind alfresco dining area and be immersed in the sounds of dining passengers and the ocean breeze.

3. First Class Stateroom
With full-scale re-creation, witness how First Class passengers enjoyed the most luxurious way to travel.

4. The Grand Staircase
Towering over 24 feet tall, this majestic beauty epitomizes the ship's elegance.

Looks exactly like the grand staircase in the movie ((: and to think that is a replica.

5.Third Class Quarters/ Hallway
The Titanic also carried passengers looking for a better life. See how these passengers traveled onboard with this re-creation.

6. Iceberg Gallery
An iceberg loomed out of the calm night on 14 April 1912, a precursor to the tragedy that would befall the Titanic. In this gallery, touch a real sheet of ice and experience the freezing waters of the North Atlantic.

We had a feel of the ice, seriously too cold for comfort. Makes me sympathize all of those who lost their lives that fateful night.

7. Memorial Gallery
In memory of the passengers onboard the Titanic, this gallery provides a listing of over 2,200 names of those who were lost and saved in the tragedy.

The person that I was given 'Mrs John Murray Brown (Caroline Lane Lamson)' who was 59 at that time. Survived, she was a 1st Class Passenger. But unlike mine baby's person a guy of age 31, 'Mr Julius Van der Planke'  did not survive. Since woman and children were to board the boats first, simply there weren't enough boats to go around to save everyone.

8. Discovery Gallery
Find out about the discovery, recovery and conservation of artifacts from the Titanic.

9. Singapore 1912
This new addition to the Exhibition is dedicated to local connections where visitors can learn how the sinking of the great ship resonated in Singapore.

In this exhibition there are about 275 artifacts that were recovered from the wreck.
14 of which have never been seen before.

real objects | real stories

Seriously worth the money to go and view, it's ending soon last chance to view it.

Destress
Thursday, March 22, 2012 / 10:56 PM

Been stressed out at work.. maybe it's just me. Needed to find a way to relax and then I remembered that when I bought my Pedi package I bought a discounted facial. So after lunch I made an appointment for 7 - 7.30pm around there.

When I got there a was little late for I had missed my bus as I left the office late. But it was all good.. It was so nice I feel much more refreshed I think I was lying down for a good 1.5 - 2 hours. Did I mention I was freezing even though I had a blanket on me. Conversing with my facialist was quite hard as I was trying to understand her as my mandarin is not that great. Managed to pick up words here and there.. in the end she got her colleague to help explain to me in English.  My facialist she was doing the massage too it was super intense and painful, but after I feel super relax and less tense. So worth the pain!

I sort of got reeled in to buy their package as it was a great deal get it for $388 now then to get it later on when I have to pay $1008. *faints* It's for 6 sessions.. I was thinking I really need it so I got it. My next appointment for my facial is in 2 weeks and hehe i'm going to be doing my pedicure next week.. it's been too long since my last visit.

I've been told I need a home care for my face.. Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Moisturizer and Sun Block. There are 2 things in the list that I super hate and even though it's going to make my skin pretty.. I will not sure it, as I hate to put stuff on my face. Why do you think I seldom wear make up!

Anyways can't wait to try the slimming, even though exercising is the key to my flat belly! *excitement*

Mocked
Tuesday, March 13, 2012 / 11:22 PM

How would you like if you were mocked by other people about yourself, i'm sure you would not like it. Hence why do you do it to other people. Is it that big a deal if I suck at mathematics, does it make a big deal that I use to fail maths. Look were I am today, I'm working in the same place as you.. getting paid and I don't need maths. So why the hell do you mock me and say to others that I can't count.

I can't say I was like you in Primary school in EM1or 2.. or in Secondary school in NA or Express. Cause I was not I was in the lowest stream you can ever find. Why? I was a slow learner they say. Being looked down for half of my schooling life you don't know how that feels and there you mock me cause of one single subject. Shame on you!

Being an emotional person, I tend not to show my sadness as I don't want people to judge me of being weak. So I keep to myself about this kind of things and when it gets too much I break down and cry. Do you think I enjoy doing this. If you were me I don't think so.. All I can do is just laugh it off but I know deep down inside I feel like i'm worthless.

I can only dream of getting better..

Movie Review : The Lorax
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 / 8:40 PM

About the movie: From the creators of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the 3D-CG feature The Lorax, an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of a 12-year-old as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.

Danny DeVito will lend his vocal talents to the iconic title character of the Lorax, while Ed Helms will voice the enigmatic Once-ler. Also bringing their talents to the film are global superstars Zac Efron as Ted, the idealistic youth who searches for the Lorax, and Taylor Swift as Audrey, the girl of Ted’s dreams. Rob Riggle will play financial king O’Hare, and beloved actress Betty White will portray Ted’s wise Grammy Norma.

My thoughts: If you're a big fan of animation, or loves to watch a movie with lots of laughs than this would be a great movie with a touching story line. It's for all ages - young & old. It made my boyfriend and I laugh throughout the movie. Out of the whole movie I liked Betty White as she portray Ted's Grammy Norma. A down to earth grammy with a bit of mischief who helps her grandson achieve something impossible to do in Thneedville.

We were told to bring moustaches to the event, so I printed 2 of it out and started making amendments to it.  But we missed the photo session as we were running late from catching the bus from our workplace. In the end we just ended up taking a picture of ourselves in them, even though we looked silly.

Thank you!! OMY and UIP for giving me the chance to watch The Lorax (:

New Shine
Sunday, March 4, 2012 / 4:39 PM

I told baby that I needed to re dye my roots as it was getting really obvious. So he suggested his hair place but then i was thinking hmm I've never dyed my hair there before will it be ok.. So I said maybe not i'll just do it at my own hair place. But I've decided that today will be the day when I dye my hair at his hair place since he was going to get his haircut. So I asked how long it would take to just dye the roots.

The lady at the counter could not answer me in English at all.. you know they should hire people who are bilingual so I don't have to kill myself and rack my brains to say stuff in Chinese. Since I was brought up in English at home. Totally suck at conversing in Mandarin, but can manage the basic somehow. Anyways another hairdresser nearby helped me translate what I wanted. She said that it would take about an hour, but it turned out to be more than an hour.

I was than passed off to another hairdresser her name is Evon, she too cannot converse with me in English and I had so much difficulty talking to her. But all went well with my crappy mandarin and pointing skills. As baby had gone home to shower and waited for me. I really love the outcome haha. Also had a trimming session as I really could not stand having anymore split ends, it was horrible. Can you believe me if I said my hair cut was only $2.80? I can't even believe it myself. All in all I paid $62.80 for my cut, colour, wash, blow dry and style.

After everything walked a few stores down to Mc Donalds to get a meal as a snack, was not really that hungry but just wanted to munch on something. I don't have a picture yet but I will have one up soon!

I love my new shine
