Review: Biore Micellar Cleansing Water [SPONSORED]
Monday, September 29, 2014 / 10:58 AM

I've always like Biore products, I've been using them since my teenage days. Whether it was facial washes or makeup remover wipes.

I hardly use makeup on a daily basis, I prefer my bare skin when I head out of the house. But when I do put it on, it would be simple: Concealer, BB Cream, Matte Foundation, Eye Liner (Brown, Pencil), Blusher. [picture above]

Recently Biore has come out with a new product called 'Biore Micellar Cleansing Water' - $18.90 (300ml).

Biore Micellar Cleansing Water, effectively removes makeup without clogging pores and there isn't a need to wash your face after. It's said to be able to lift off more makeup in 1 wipe and it's also light and refreshing. For those who have skin problems, don't worry it's clinically proven, gentle, alcohol free, frangrance free, oil free, colorant free, allergy and opthalmologist tested and non-comedogenic.

Watery Micellar Technology - Dissolves & lifts off more traces of makeup, including mascara and eyeliner.

Natural Mineral Water from Northern Japanese Alps

Gentle on the skin

Anti-Bacterial FormulaHelps prevent pimples and breakouts, and minimises pores for a clearer, more refined complexion
Enriched Collagen & White Tea Extract

Leaves skin brighter, softer and more supple

  • Remove stopper from the pump before use.
  • Pump an appropriate amount onto a cotton pad.
  • Used soaked cotton pad to gently wipe off makeup.
  • No rinsing required.
  • For eye makeup, place soaked cotton pad onto closed eyes and hold for 5 seconds before gently wiping off.
  • Repeat until all makeup is removed, and cotton pad is clean.

  • If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
  • If product gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Keep product away from high temperature and direct sunlight.

Biore Micellar Cleansing Water makes my skin feels clean, refreshed and has no sticky after feel. There isn't a need to rinse my face after usage, but for myself I would prefer to just wash my face after.. it's just my preference. I was quite amazed at how moist my cotton pad was after 2 pumps of the cleansing water. It was such a nice experience to have to know that I didn't have to keep pumping on the same cotton pad.
If you do not have a samplestore.com account, register for one and get yourself a sample of the Biore Micellar Cleansing Water. If not you can purchase this Biore product at all pharmacies, hypermarkets, supermarkets and major departmental stores.

Thank you Biore and samplestore for this opportunity to review this product! (:

    44th Monthsary
    Tuesday, September 9, 2014 / 10:00 PM

Before work ended I went to make reservations at this place called Restaurant Labyrinth on Neil Road for our monthsary. How I got to know about this place? I was watching Clicknetwork.tv's Food Porn hosted by Irene Ang. It's a fine dining restaurant with unique dishes. Most of the items on the menu I would not normally eat, but I had tried it. So yea! I've tried it but I don't fancy them.

They have 2 different kinds of menu, Signature and Degustation. I thought Degustation looks interesting, so got Baby to order that. It's a 8 course menu - $138 (with service charge of 10%). The Signature menu is a smaller course.

Here are the dishes that were on our degustation menu (:

    Pineapple Fried Rice
Pineapple Sorbet, Tumeric Zabaglione, Rice Crispy

    Bacon and "Eggs"
Hokkaido Scallops, Sea Urchin, Prosciutto Crisp
(tried my first Uni, and my last, didn't really fancy the taste)

    Labyrinth Chilli Crab
Chilli Crab Ice Cream, Soft Shell Crab, Sturgeon Caviar

    Artisan Garden Pizza
Summer Truffles, Spinach Tomato Crust, Chantarelle Mushrooms
(to me this is the worst dish ever.. I felt like I was eating dried leaves, oh and the cheese is on the salty side. The chef said that this will be off the menu tomorrow.)

    Cantonese Porridge Carbonara

Polenta Porridge, Parmesan Cream, Poached Egg Yolk

    Satay Steak
Satay Marinated Steak, Pan Seared Foie Gras, Peanut Mochi
(this would be my first time trying Foie Gras as I cannot seem to stomach it, it's so fatty)

    Chendol Xiao Long Bao
Molecular Chendol Soup Dumpling, Gula Melaka Syrup
(was suppose to put the whole thing in my mouth, it was difficult the spoon + dumpling was so big!)

    Singapore Breakfast

Panna Cotta, Mango Puree, Teh Tarik Crème Brulee
("Soft-boiled eggs" are my favourite. Even has a similar texture to the actual eggs)

    Petit Four

    -----

I will definitely dine here again to try their new menus that will be out tomorrow onwards.

    Our little getaway..
    Monday, September 8, 2014 / 10:00 PM

2 hours away from Singapore via Garuda Airlines we landed in Denpasar Bali on Friday, 5 September 2014.

It was Baby's and my first time in Bali, but for our couple friends this would be their second visit. We had someone pick us up from the airport. Their airport is weird because they make you walk through their duty-free shop before you get to get out. What's worst their alcohol were like overpriced.

    Our villa

We stayed at Destiny Villa a 4 BR as we were exploring the house, but 2 BR's seemed locked. So can I say it's a 2 BR villa? I really love our private pool, but I'm sad as I can't swim and can't really enjoy the depth of 1.8m. We have a huge kitchenette were we made breakfast in the morning after the day we had our miserable breakfast from the villa.

Ivy and Pieter took the bedroom upstairs while Baby and I took the bedroom below, it was very spacious. The villa is very nice, except for the fact that no matter how hard you try to kill all the mosquitoes in the bathroom or in the bedroom. When you leave and come back, there will always be the same amount of mosquitoes there or more!

How to move around Bali? Oh! rent a scooter/ flag a cab/ shuttle or use your legs if the place you want to visit is nearby. We rented 2 scooters for the 4 of us, it was scary at first as I have never sat on one before, but it was sort of fun after a while. One scooter cost us 200,000 IDR for the days that we were there.

Dishes I had when we were at Warisan Restaurant

There's this really nice restaurant called Warisan near us. We had lunch there, it looked expensive when we went there but then I found the food to be reasonably priced. I had the Linguine Carbonara, a Panna Cotta dessert and a Coke Float (which tasted like diet coke, I suppose the Coca Cola in Indonesia doesn't taste as sweet as ours.)

We did some water sports on Sunday morning, it was USD$83 per person. We did Para-Sailing, Jet Ski and Sea Walker. Those who know me will not believe that I did all those. But Baby and I are proud of myself as I had overcome some of my fears. If you asked me to do those again I would gladly do it as I have done it once already. Sadly those who do not believe won't as I do not have any photos, as all of us were doing it.. no one was carrying a camera, it was locked up in the lockers that were provided on shore. Definitely need a GoPro next time!

On the last night in Bali, we had a Brai, it was awesome. But I was full so I didn't really eat much, but had lots of Garlic Bread. To make the Garlic Butter was a hassle as they didn't sell crushed garlic, and so we had to make some ourselves. My poor tongue was on fire from the freshly ground garlic that we had made, but it was nice and it's suppose to keep the mosquitoes away. It's suppose to be true.. but it's a lie I tell you, I was still chased around the room.

    Seminyak Beach with filter

I've really enjoyed Bali and its villa, beaches, food, drinks and water sports! Definitely will visit again (:
